by Sinéad Hurley
Homeopathic remedies are easy to take and designed to work gently with your body’s natural healing processes. Follow these instructions to ensure maximum effectiveness:
Homeopathic Prescription – Dosage Instructions:
Use the recommended number of pellets, drops, or tablets as directed on your email prescription. Suck your remedies with a clean mouth, strong flavours/odours may affect your remedy, mint is also known to have an effect on the remedy so try to take the remedies at least 20/30 minutes after cleaning teeth, drinking coffee etc.
Timing:
Take remedies on an empty stomach or at least 15–30 minutes before or after eating, drinking, or brushing your teeth.
Avoid strong flavours like mint, coffee, or alcohol shortly before and after taking the remedy, as they may interfere with its action.
How to Take the Remedy:
Pellets/Tablets: Allow the remedy to dissolve under your tongue for maximum absorption. Avoid swallowing whole or chewing the pellets.
Liquid Remedies: Place the recommended number of drops directly under your tongue or in a small amount of water to drink slowly.
If you are giving remedies to an infant it might be easier to crush the pellets/tablets between two spoons and place this powder on the infants tongue off the spoon.
How to Watch and Wait for Changes in Symptoms:
Homeopathic remedies work by stimulating your body’s natural healing response. Observing changes in your symptoms is key to understanding how the remedy is working.
After Taking the Remedy:
Be patient; remedies often work subtly and may take time to show results. Acute conditions may improve within hours or days, while chronic conditions might require weeks.
What to Watch For:
- Changes in the intensity, location, frequency or nature of your symptoms.
- Improvements in general well-being, energy levels, or mood, even if specific symptoms persist.
- Any new or unusual symptoms that appear after taking the remedy.
Storing Your Remedies:
Avoid Contamination:
Handle pellets or tablets with clean, dry hands. Alternatively, tip the remedy directly into the cap and then into your mouth.
How to Store Your Remedies:
Proper storage is essential to maintain the potency and effectiveness of homeopathic remedies. Follow these guidelines:
Temperature and Light:
Store remedies in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, or humidity.
Avoid storing remedies in the bathroom, kitchen, or near heating appliances, as fluctuations in temperature and humidity can reduce their effectiveness.
Keep Away from Strong Odours:
When stored correctly, your remedies will last for years. Do not store remedies near strong-smelling substances like perfumes, essential oils, cleaning products, or spices, as they may affect the remedy’s potency.
Container Care:
Always ensure that remedy containers are tightly closed after use, ideally stored in a cupboard where children cannot reach them.
